A Benefit for the Scotty Hard Trust
A Benefit concert for notable music producer and engineer, Scott Harding, was held on March 19th at the Highline Ballroom in NYC. While a passenger in a car service after a late night mix session, the car Scott was in was hit and crushed his T5 vertebrae leaving him partially paralyzed. Like many other Americans, Scott is without health insurance and is facing a great amount of medical and legal fees. Having contributed great talent to hip-hop and jazz genres and with production credits with artists such as Wu-Tang and Tricky, many people came out to spread some love to him and all his friends and enjoyed great performances by John Scofield, John Medeski, Billy Martin, Eric Krasno, Neal Evans, Marco Benevento, Joe Russo, Adam Deitch, Antibalas, Sex Mob, DJ Logic, John Ellis, Michael Blake, Vijay Iyer, Tommy Hamilton and Kevin Kendrick.
100% of the concert proceeds will go to the Scott Hardy Trust and will let this music producer enter rehab for his back injuries. Personal Donations can be made as well and are payable to "The Scotty Hard Trust" c/o Heesok Chang 970 Kent Ave #401 Brooklyn NY 11205 MORE >>

viva la evolution
Medeski Martin & Wood are planning 3 tours, plus 3 albums in 2008. Each tour and subsequent album will consist of all NEW MUSIC. The plan: Write > Tour > Record > Repeat. Bucking the traditional process of recording an album, THEN touring after its release. The band feels this new approach for 2008 will lend itself to their way of performing and developing music. On Feb. 14, MMW will get together for 5 days to write new material for their Northeast tour, Feb. 19 - 29. Directly following the tour they will head into the studio to record the music developed on the road. Each body of new material will be unique to each tour (if you see it in New York, you won't see it in Los Angeles). Some of the material may make it into the band's festival sets, but the bulk of it will only be performed during the specified tour period. Please come celebrate. Watch the music evolve, and be part of something different!
Information coming on how to obtain all 3 recordings in a signed, limited edition, eco package.
-Thank you MORE >>

Illy B's Veggie Oil Diesel
Here's Cyro Baptista and Billy Martin with his 1991 Dodge Ram (Cummins diesel). This truck has moved, dirt, rocks, garbage, drums, bamboo, and more for Billy. He has been driving this used vegetable oil truck for over a year now. Not only has Billy helped recycle the truck, but he has also recyled all the nasty restaurant waste oil that is eventually dumped in a land fill somewhere. If interested in converting your car to run on grease like Illy B did, please order a kit from greasecar.com and have your local mechanic install it. If you smell a little Japanese tempura on the highway, it's probably Illy B and his truck! MORE >>
